İznik Müşküle Needlework is a traditional handicraft with high cultural and artistic value, unique to the Müşküle Village of İznik, Bursa. This art, which is considered one of the most exquisite needle laces of Anatolia, has been handed down from generation to generation with the hand labor of village women. Müşküle needle lace has a privileged place in the Bursa needle lace tradition with its craftsmanship, aesthetics and techniques used. It is definitely included in every young girl's dowry. Today, it is modernized and used in areas such as jewelry design, scarf edge, scarf, towel, tablecloth.
Since the 2020s, Müşküle needle lace has been one of the handicrafts for which studies have been carried out for the registration of geographical indication, and it has also been supported for the economic contribution of the local people. It is still produced by some women in Müşküle and offered for sale in handicraft markets, women's cooperatives or handicraft festivals. It is also popular as a souvenir in Iznik and the surrounding touristic areas.
